InterNACHI CMI (5+ year member) / Real Construction Exp. / 1,800+ Inspections / Certified Master Inspector/ Husband and Dad 🙂
Board-Certified Master Inspector, CCPIA Certified Commercial Inspector, with additional certifications in Radon Testing, Mold Testing and Sewer Scopes. In an otherwise unregulated industry, I have completed the training and exams required by the industry-leading certifying organization, including peer-reviewed inspection reports. After 4 years as an InterNACHI Certified Professional Inspector, I became a Certified Master Inspector in 2024.
CO Radon Measurement Professional License RME.0000058. In addition to being a Colorado state licensed radon tester, I also hold an NRPP Radon Mitigator Certificate (#111863-RMT). This enhanced training and experience allows me to not only test the home effectively but also explain your options for mitigation should the results come in high.
Former Licensed General Contractor and owner of Sand Building and Restoration, Inc. Licensure required documented experience across a range of trades, maintaining strict professional standandards and demonstrated understanding of all phases of construction from blueprints through finish work.
Years of Hands-On Experience. From an early age, I was fortunate to work with my dad installing kitchen appliances, modifying kitchens and remodelling homes. I got to see what respect looks like, take the blanket-walled service elevators and bought toy cars with my first $20 tip. I then went on to work on framing crews, doing the real work of reading blueprints, demoing roofs, cutting wood members and securing them with nail guns. I remember how the crew laughed at me when I accidentally cut through a water pipe. I have walked into more homes than I can count, gaining an understanding of homes a person can't get from books or classes. I ranged beyond my blue collar upbringing, working my way through 2 college degrees, learned violin making and taught in schools for 5 years, but my roots and ethos are in working with homes and the people who live in them. I do think the totality of those experiences are what make for the important blend of being a qualified inspector and good communicator.
General Contractor and Business Owner. As co-owner of Sand Building and Restoration Inc., I signed the contracts with homeowners and the buck stopped with me when issues came up on a jobsite. Anybody who's had the nightmares of blue tape on the walls of a call-back knows what I mean :). I know how important it is to say what I will do and do what I say. Importantly, the experience of managing multiple work crews clarified for me that I prefer the business model of doing the work myself. I value the simplicity and quality control that comes with working directly with each client from start to finish.
Integrity. I serve my clients. Buying a home is a big deal and you hire me to ensure the safety of you, your family and your investment. I have no disclosed or undisclosed financial arrangements with anybody but you.
Thoroughness. Every inspection I perform is bound by industry-leading Standards of Practice and I use moisture readers, thermal imaging cameras, carbon monoxide detectors, outlet testers and other specialized tools that allow me to maximize what I can observe and clearly communicate to you.Â
Timeliness. I'll be there when I say I will. You'll get your reports on time.
